Principals across the country have spoken – nearly 2000 of them, in fact. And they overwhelmingly support recess.
For the first time ever, principals were invited by the Gallup organization to weigh in on the topic of recess in a national, scientific poll. And guess what?
4 out of 5 principals reported that recess has a positive impact on academic achievement.
2/3 of respondents reported that students listen better after recess and are more focused in class.
Virtually all believe that recess has a positive impact on children’s social development (96 percent) and general well-being (97 percent).
